  • What are the differences between the Academic Master’s and the Professional Master’s?
  • How does admission to the MPEH work?
  • I am not an engineering graduate. Can I join the MPEH?
    • Yes, it is possible to enroll in the master’s program with a degree in other fields.
  • How many courses do I need to take?
    • A total of 26 credits are required throughout the program, including 12 mandatory credits and 14 elective credits. In general, each course is worth 3 credits. Students access the course list each year and select the courses of interest, always with the approval of their advisor.
  • What is the deadline for the qualifying exam?
    • The deadline for qualification is 18 months. In the third semester, enrollment in the Qualification course – MPEH100 is mandatory.
  • What is the deadline to complete the program?
    • The deadline for submitting the final dissertation is up to 24 (thirty) months.
  • How are the courses delivered?
    • Courses are delivered in person and/or remotely, mostly in the evening (7 PM to 11 PM) from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 8 AM to 12 PM. Laboratory classes are offered in person with prior scheduling. The academic period is divided into bimesters (2 months). Please consult the semester course schedule.
  • What is the cost of the program?
    • The program is free of charge.
  • Does MPEH offer research scholarships?
    • MPEH is a professional master’s program and therefore does not offer research funding scholarships.
  • Can I pursue a PhD after completing the Professional Master’s in Water Engineering?
    • Yes, MPEH is a stricto sensu program, allowing graduates to pursue doctoral studies.
